1. Only bet with what you can afford to lose
The cast-iron rule of gambling is that you should only ever play with what you can afford to lose. If you view your casino cash as ‘money spent’ rather than “money earned’, then your attitude will be calmer and you will be a better player at whatever game you choose to play. That’s not to say that you don’t want to play to win – you do, but you don’t want to ever play any casino game knowing that you cannot afford to lose.
2. Attitude matters
It’s likely that your opponents won’t know much about your background as a player, especially if you are playing online. So remember, don’t be meek, mild and allow yourself to be bullied at the table by other players or the casino, stand up and play confidently with attitude. When the odds are in favour, go for your bet confidently and treat winning and losing just the same. 3. Bet sensibly, ideally develop a strategy
One of the biggest novice mistakes is when people bet too much too soon and find themselves either out, or way down in a game before they have even had chance to get warmed up to the action. Keep your bets affordable and sensible initially in order to play the game and build your stack slowly. The longer you stay in, then the more chances you have of hitting a decent run of form. Alternatively, if luck isn’t going your way, by keeping your bets small and manageable, you are decreasing the hits your account is taking. If you are up, you can increase the size of bets proportionate to your winnings and devise a strategy to ensure you always have money left in your account to play with next time.
4. Choose your games carefully
Casino’s offer lots of different games, many are pure chance (such as slot machines or roulette), others are played to a strategy against the house (such as blackjack) or against other players (like poker).
